Black Watch Boats have enjoyed success in Australia for over a decade; building quality cruising and sportsfishing boats for the local and export market.
The legacy began with the Black Watch 26 and Black Watch 30 models from moulds initially imported from the USA. These hull shapes were from the drawing board of one Raymond C. Hunt, the grandfather of deep vee hull design. The Black Watch brand had developed an excellent reputation and following in the USA and quickly gained a similar reputation in Australia and the South Pacific. During the mid 1990's the popular Black Watch 34 was released and became Australia's game boat of choice for the professional and recreational skipper. Black Watch Boats quickly became synonymous for quality, performance and superb handling no matter the sea condition.
During 1997 the first of the then new Black Watch 40 models was produced and it too proved to be a huge success. Sharing a similar hull shape as that of the smaller boats the Black Watch 40 out performed and out classed the opposition, leaving them all in her wake. 1999 saw the release of the brand new Black Watch 36. This vessel has redefined the standard for this class and size of vessel.
In March 2000 Black Watch Boats moved operations to it's purpose built plant on the Tweed River, northern NSW. This new site is expanding to meet the demands of a growing export market. Blessed with highway and river frontage, this site at Chinderah in NSW is possibly the best boat building site in the country. With the Black Watch brand now exporting to the USA, Japan, Pacific Islands, Indonesia, Thailand, South Africa, New Zealand and Europe, it is anticipated that production will continue to grow to around 150 boats per annum for the entire range.
The rough conditions often experienced on the east Australian coast are an ideal proving ground for any boat attempting to make its mark as a quality Blue Water cruiser – which is what we confidently deliver to our customers each and every time. The performance enjoyed in our local conditions is always enough to demonstrate the Black Watch advantage which we have over all our competitors.
The committed team at Black Watch Boats strives to build the best sport fishing and cruising boats the world has seen. Within the Black Watch brand we continue the traditions and art of boat building rather than just boat assembling – thus enabling us to ensure the highest of standards is met each and every time. Enjoyment and safety for your family, your friends and you is what we provide.
